News from PTA
The PTA has been very busy this week on Wednesday 12th September we had an informative meeting with lots of ideas and discussions. The library was a wonderful venue to share ideas, sit comfortably and truly feel a part of the school community. That afternoon the PTA hosted a Grade 2 Bake Sale and Second Hand Uniform Sale, creating a market buzz around the Grade 1 bale. The profits will go toward PTA projects.
On Monday 10 September, to celebrate Islamic New Year, a BBQ was held with yummy, healthy Arabic style snacks such as hummus, pita bread, vegetable sticks and chicken skewers; satay sauce and lontong (discs of steamed rice).
On 24 September, the PTA will host our first ‘Bali Discovery Group’- a social outing for BIS parents to get to know Bali a little better. For the first excursion, we will visit to fabric markets in Denpasar. All are welcome. We will be meeting outside the school administration office at 8 am.
The Courtyard has proven to be a popular place to sit, play and socialize- so the PTA would love any donations of board games in good condition which can be used in the Courtyard by students at lunchtime and after school. Card games, old chess and checkers sets would also be much appreciated!
The focus next week will be in organizing International Day for Friday 21 September!
Looking forward to seeing the school community embrace our diversity and get to know one another cultures and customs.
