PTA eNews Updates – August 16, 2019

Quote of the week – The great thing about new friends is that they bring new energy to your soul.”

After only a week and a half into school term, it is so lovely to see the children settling in, gaining confidence in their surroundings and new friendships being formed.

This also extends to the parents. We had a great turn out for the coffee morning on Thursday, the courtyard was full happy chat and laughter!

Helping Hands

The PTA would like to call upon any parents that would like to get involved with upcoming school activities and events. Helping hands are always welcome and greatly appreciated. This is also a great way to meet new people, make friends and feel more a part of the community. Don’t worry, we will not lock you into any commitments, but help when and where you can, would be fantastic.

Please be reminded that all parents are invited to the upcoming PTA meeting on Wednesday 21st August. This is a great opportunity to find out information, and ask any questions you may have. The meeting will be held in the library at 8am.

For those of you that are new to the Island, the PTA have offered to take parents on a tour of the local supermarkets to show you where you can purchase particular items. Please let us know if you would like for this to be arranged.

BIS International Day

Dear BIS families from around the world,

What better way to teach our children about different cultures than by bringing them together for an afternoon of food and fun.

Friday 18th October will be our 4th annual BIS International day. Get ready to celebrate by showcasing our national and cultural diversity. We hope to have as many countries represented as possible, with food, games, traditional clothing or country colors to show off what makes us all unique.

Please keep an eye out for an email with us the relevant information and further details.

In the mean time you can also contact Allison Jaquier (ajaquier@gmail.com) or the PTA at pta@baliis.net.

Cups and crockery wanted!

Please help us, (and clear out your cupboards) by donating any unwanted cups and / or cutlery and crockery, and help us reduce the use of plastic and paper items in the school. All donations are greatly appreciated.
