Message from the Head of School – September 20, 2019

September 19, 2019

The faculty and staff were hard at work yesterday afternoon analyzing and reflecting on our written curriculum. This reflection is a part of our self study process for our accrediting agencies. Our Domain A team continues their good work as well. The report they produce will help inform each of the other domain’s efforts. Domains A-H meet again on October 1 at 3:00 p.m. Thank you to our parent and student volunteers for your important contributions.

Here is the presentation Craig, Ross and I made yesterday afternoon. Thank you for your continued care and interest in our school’s progress.

Congratulations to all of our BSSA students who participated in the season ending tournament over the last few days. I have been impressed with our students’ efforts, sportsmanship and support of each other. Well done!

Twelve students traveled to Manila to participate in the World Scholars Cup. They have represented BIS well on all fronts earning medals in debate, writing, and individual competition. I’ve asked students to write an article about the experience, so stay tuned here for that piece next week.

Tomorrow is World Clean Up Day. Take a photo of you and your family “cleaning up” and share it with me, I’ll post it on our Facebook and Twitter accounts. Thanks for taking action with your child and demonstrating the importance of minding our planet’s health.

I hope you have a great long weekend.
