Message from the Head of School – October 4, 2019

October 4, 2019

Thank you to our partners in education, you, the parents of BIS students, for attending conferences yesterday. The message you sent your child about the importance of education speaks volumes during a day like that. Help your child use the feedback provided about his/her approaches to learning to support specific areas of growth. Continue to support your child as we return to Term II by providing the assistance to efficiently manage time, handle technology at home safely, work in a defined homework space, and ensure sleeping routines for healthy habits.

I hope you have October 18 circled on your calendar. The BIS International Festival will begin at 1:15 and continue through the end of the school day. We will celebrate our newly minted Global Mindedness definition with student speeches, dance and music, art, and of course, food and games from the wide diaspora our community represents. Thank you to all of you who are already working to make this day special for our students!

I wish you and your family a wonderful holiday. Take time to play some board games, read a book out loud as a family, and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us.

See you on October 14, bright and early for the start of Term II!
