Message From the Head of School – September 18, 2020

Happy Galungan and Kuningan to our Hindu Community members! I love biking through the gangs at this time of year. I sent my Mom a video, showing the Penjors – so beautiful and lovely to see Bali’s culture on display. The Island of the Gods certainly rings true at this time of year.

PTA Meeting
The PTA Meeting scheduled yesterday morning did not achieve the required number of parents for our AGM quorum to be achieved. I attribute this to my poor foresight of the timing as well as the day after Galungan.

I have rescheduled the PTA AGM for September 24 at 2:00 p.m. I do hope you are able to join and participate.

October 6 11:20 – 12:50 BIS Parent Accreditation Conversation

Conferences
On October 1, hopefully, our first day back to our Distance Learning Support Program, BIS will host goal-setting conferences for Primary students and 3-way conferences for Secondary students.

Primary
We will welcome Primary families onto campus, all health measures in place, for 15-minute conferences with the homeroom teacher. The teacher will review the assessment data collected during the first term and then assist your child to create meaningful academic goals. A goal will also be set for the student’s social-emotional well being.

Important Notes:

  1. If you prefer to conference from home, the conference will be held via Zoom – please indicate this when you sign-up by placing a Z after your name.
  2. If you would like to meet with a specialist teacher, please email Ibu Deni at primarysecretary@baliis.net

Secondary
We will hold all 3-way conferences virtually on October 1. Parents will gain access to sign-up for conferences on September 28. These powerful conversations work best when your child is at the table. Thank you for circling this day and planning accordingly.
