Message from the Head of School – March 26, 2021

Vaccinations at BIS
The Village Head of Sanur Kaja asked BIS if they could use our school as a vaccination station. I met Pak Made Sudana on Saturday to tour the facility and we settled on the covered court. Let me tell you, it has been well used this week with over 1000 vaccinations occurring M-F. I am happy to report that due to this cooperation we have been able to get all of our faculty vaccinated. Local staff had been vaccinated previously. So BIS is now well situated to reopen.

The meeting today between the Village representatives, Denpasar’s Education and Health Dinas and BIS went very well. We have been provided permission to hold consultations on our campus. Homeroom teachers will be sharing a plan for the remainder of Term IV early next week. The first week (April 5 – 9) will have limited consultations, to allow our students opportunity to revisit our health protocols. The second (April 12 – 16) and subsequent weeks will see a more robust consultation plan.

Re-enrollment SY21-22
I’d like to again draw your attention to our tuition rates for SY21-22. After lowering tuition rates by 10% last year, the Board has made the bold decision to again cut tuition fees by a further 1-3% (dependent on the grade level).

The re-enrollment information is shared here. Please note that this year there is an option to fill out the form electronically.

I am pleased to report that BIS enrollment for SY20-21 has been maintained throughout each Term. Also of note, is that we continue to see a strong number of inquiries from families looking to relocate to Bali just as soon as they can.

Thank you for your continued support of Bali Island School.

Calendar Adjustment
May 13 and 14 are now National Holidays to mark Eid Dul Fitri. Our SY20-21 calendar has the 13th as a holiday. Please mark your school calendar for the 14th of May to also be a holiday.
