Message from the Head of School – August 5, 2022
It was an honour and privilege to welcome back students to our campus this week for the first day of the semester for over two years. We now have a student body with 26 different nationalities, speaking 18 languages, and it was wonderful to hear all the different greetings from around the world. Our diversity truly aligns with our mission of nurturing globally-minded confident learners and we shall strive to further increase our diversity.
I have had very fruitful meetings with the PTA recently. We will be holding a “Welcome for new parents” on Monday 08th August at 0800-0915 in the MPR at which our PTA will also be present in supporting me. All NEW parents are cordially invited to learn more about the school, and the role of the PTA.
Being a fresh set of eyes on the campus allows me to identify areas for school improvement which may not be observed by someone who has been here for a longer time. Therefore, in line with our vision of being the number one IB school of choice and leader of IB World schools in Indonesia, I have identified several areas of the school campus which need some development work, e.g. drop off facilities and procedures. This is an example of a safeguarding issue and will be dealt with. I also welcome your suggestions as to how we can improve our campus facilities.
Please do check our calendar for the vast array of festivities and events that we have planned. It is important that as parents, you are connected with what is happening in school life and where possible, can become involved.
Note that the campus will be closed on Wednesday 17th August to celebrate Independence Day.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, and thank you for choosing BIS as your school of choice for your children.
