DP Results – Class of 2022
Despite completing a majority of their Diploma Programme journey online, the Class of 2022 achieved some fantastic IBDP results. BIS is proud of once again having a passing rate of 100% and an average IBDP score of 34.18 with both numbers being significantly higher than the world average. In addition, one student achieved the perfect score of 45 which globally was accomplished by less than 1% of all candidates taking the Diploma Programme exams. Congratulations to all BIS graduates of the Class of 2022.

Grade 11 DP Retreat to Baturiti
The grade 11 students arrived in Baturiti for the DP retreat. As a first challenge, students had to set up their own tents, which took slightly longer than expected. It appears they are already learning how to collaborate. Over the next 24 hours, students will engage in various activities to form strong bonds that will be the foundation for a successful DP journey.

World Mathematics Invitational (WMI)
World Mathematics Invitational (WMI) is the first international competition founded by Taiwan. It gathers institutes and organizations worldwide that make efforts in promoting and popularizing mathematics. Through interacting with other math-loving students that represent their countries, students can expand their worldview, and experience different cultures, and thus their horizons, as well as their future, will be broadened.

Simin Kim: Participating in WMI allowed me to broaden and solidify my understanding of Mathematics. For instance, I was exposed to a wide range of interesting and challenging questions. These challenging questions encouraged me to enhance my problem solving skills. Hence, having the opportunity to participate in WMI was an extremely blissful experience.

Seo-Yeon Bang: I truly enjoyed joining the 2022 World Mathematics Invitational this year as it was my first time attending a Mathematics competition outside of school. I didn’t have high expectations for receiving an award because it was quite challenging, but I got a better result than expected. I thought it was a valuable experience because there were many different types of questions therefore I broadened my Mathematics knowledge. This experience has motivated me to challenge myself more because you never know what will happen.

Se Bin An: This was my first time participating in the 2022 World Mathematics Invitational. Before applying for the WMI, I hesitated because I didn’t have a lot of experience in competitions. However, it was a great chance to test my math skills and I was pleased to have received an award that I had not expected. This experience has motivated me to participate in future competitions.
