Education Outside The Classroom (EOTC)

Dear BIS Parents,

I am pleased to announce that our Education Outside The Classroom (EOTC) camps are back! It has been long since our BIS Community was able to celebrate learning outside of campus and we are all excited to get this opportunity back.

Our EOTC camps are planned in such a way to ensure there is a progression of skill development   as students move from the late PYP years ( Grades 4 & 5) through MYP and DP years. DP camp information will be directly shared with Grade 11 and 12 students. All camps have a Service, Sport and Cultural component as well as some fun activities to help develop deeper relationships among students, teachers and the nature of this beautiful island.

The outlines for all camps are available here:

There will be 2 parent information sessions on Thursday 25th August. One at 8.00am at the Covered Courts and a repeat session at 3.00pm. These sessions will be designed to give parents an overview of the EOTC program, with a focus on the logistics of having your child on an EOTC Camp at BIS – safety and security, transport, communications, sleeping arrangements, food, medical, supervision and more. During the 3pm session, we will have Yan Pasek from Darshan Tours present to help answer questions.

A permission form will be coming home with your child next week. Please sign and return this to acknowledge that you are aware of your child’s EOTC camp. A copy of the form is available here: EOTC 2022 Parent Cover letter

Best Regards,
