Book Week Starts Monday

Beginning Monday and going throughout the week until Friday, March 3rd, BIS will launch our community-wide Book Week. Here is the full week schedule. We encourage parents to come to our day-long PeriPius Book Fair on Tuesday, February 28th, our whole school Mother Tongue Language celebration at 8 am at the Covered Court on Wednesday, March 1, and our Book Swap and Book Character Parade on Friday, March 3 starting at 2:15 pm through the end of school. Contact Mr. Marshall in the Library for further information.

ALL WEEK
Every day from 7:45 to 8:00in your homerooms, we will be doing DEAR, which is Drop Everything and Read. Please have your reading materials ready to go Monday morning.

Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
Groups who have signed up for the Escape Room will do their part of the activity on one of these days during the lunch hour. Mr. Marshall has or will contact you regarding your scheduled time. Please be on time in the Upstairs Library classroom. If you arrive when another group is still working, please wait downstairs until it is your turn.

Tuesday, February 28
PeriPlus will be holding a book fair all day in the downstairs library. We will have some vouchers to give to students, but books will be for sale, with cards and cash accepted. Feel free to stop by at drop off or pick up to get some books for yourself and your family.

Wednesday, March 1
Our Mother Tongue Language activity is from 8 am to 9:20 am, starting at the Covered Court and then breaking off to various locations across camps.  All students and teachers have been sent their group locations and members in the group via email and the secondary student bulletin. Please check your email or bulletin again if you are not sure and stop by the library to see Mr. Marshall so he can be annoyed that you don’t know still even though he has sent it out so many times.

Friday, March 3
Two events on this day. We have our book character dress parade from 2:15 pm to 2:45 pm, where students who dress up in their favorite book character or author or anything related to a story they like will strut their stuff and show off their cool costumes. Then, until 3:30 pm we will have a book swap where people who donated books can also then take a book home, thus swapping books.

These are not the only events we have, you can check the Student Bulletin for the full all-school Book Week schedule.

Parents, staff, and students can talk to me Mr. Marshall or any teacher on the Book Week Committee for any questions and more detailed info. Thank you and see you soon!
