Mr. Wyncoll’s Advice for Summer
Do these three things this summer to come back to school refreshed and ready to go:
- Read a book – ah the pleasures of being transported to a different world through good literature. Go to your local library, download to your eReader, get a recommendation from Mom or Dad, curl up on a rainy day and enjoy.
- Make something – tap into your creative self and put pencil to paper, saw to wood, glue to — well almost anything. Get your hands moving, think differently. If you are an artist at school, learn an instrument. If you play piano, make a model, a kite, a cardboard dollhouse. If you don’t think you are creative, just know you are – find a way to express it.
- Unplug – I challenge you, me, everyone to unplug for 7 days straight. Reacquaint yourself with nature, with reflection, with board games, with conversation and eye-contact. We spend more time on our screens than is healthy, and I believe it is becoming more and more important to disconnect from them and reconnect in different ways.
Thank you for a wonderful year of learning and we look forward to seeing you all again in August, bright and early on the 5th!
