IB Evaluation Visit: DP

Dear Parents, Students and Friends of BIS,

Thank you to everyone who assisted in the successful IB Diploma Programme Evaluation Visit to BIS in November!

The IB Evaluation Team has now shared their findings with us :

The Diploma Programme at BIS is to be commended on:

• Teachers’ commitment to the Programme.

• Offering a significant variety of courses despite its relatively small student numbers.

• Establishing a culture of sustainable action in the local community, which sees students engaged in long-term service work,

• Creating close links with experts from the community that contribute to the development of the Programme.

• Connecting with local and international organisations and provides the students with local and international organisations and provides them with excellent support.

The Diploma Programme at BIS will continue to develop:

• Collaborative planning, with linking to other subjects and TOK, for a more contextual and conceptual learning experience

• Alignment between MYP and DP, for a smoother transition

• Inclusion of the Learner Profile, making the attributes more explicit

• System for analysing assessment data, using findings to further improve teaching and learning
