BIS Career Day – Thank you to our presenters!

Grades 9-12 students would like to say thank you to the BIS Career Day presenters that came last week Thursday January 26. Without the involvement of parents and other members of our Bali community we cannot organize a day like this. The students found the talks very personal, engaging, and interesting. These are some of the things they learned:

  • The best way to present is just as if you’re talking to your friends.
  • Just follow your dream. If you like something, just go for it.
  • A Liberal Arts education is great.
  • The environmental conservation field is very open and accepting of people who want to help.
  • Passion is very important, so choose something you love.
  • Writing is an extremely hard job that requires discipline.
  • Being a chef is very difficult!
  • Connections are very important if you want to make it in your career.
  • Careers are not set, a path can change if you want it to.
  • We don’t know which careers will exist in the future.
  • It is alright if you don’t know what you want to do at the end of high school.
  • It’s harder than it looks to be a teacher.
  • We will have many jobs in our life time.
