BIS representatives at CISSMUN IX
It was a whirlwind of activities that led to a successful MUN trip. We landed late Thursday night, woke up early Friday morning and later explored the area around our hotel. During MUN we listened to opening speeches and collaborated with others to create resolutions.
On Saturday we were greeted at the school gates by Chinese drummers, once inside a dragon danced around the gym. We listened to the guest speakers; bye bye plastic girls Melati and Isabel Wijsen as well as Kim Phuc. During MUN we defended our resolutions and challenged resolutions of others. After MUN we again explored the area around our hotel and discovered a tasty noodle soup shop.
Sunday’s MUN involved the final debate of all resolutions. The guest speakers were an amazing Chinese acrobat troupe, the child soldier Ishmael Beah, and a real life UN worker Peter Dalglish. After MUN on Sunday we challenged our fears and conquered the Oriental Pearl Tower.
Monday was shop ‘til you drop. We visited two different markets, roamed the walking street of East Nanjing and ended the day at the world’s largest Starbucks.
Tuesday was our culture day. We had a tour guide lead us through Shanghai Urban Planning Museum, Jade Buddha Temple, and Confucius Temple. It was an amazing trip!
