Counseling Corner
The counseling corner has a new website.
This website is for parents and students in Primary and Secondary school. You will find all about Social and Emotional counseling and college counseling in interesting blogs and webinars, as well as updates from Universities and colleges around the world.
The first posts on the social and emotional page are about screen-time and social media. On the college counseling page, I added interesting webinars about gap-year, transitioning to university, and what universities are looking for during their admission process.
Please visit this website weekly for new counseling information.
See you there!
Thank You For The Laughter, Grade 3…
The Grade 3 students have been hard at work establishing routines, reconnecting with friends and teachers, and working out ways to stay positive during a strange time in all our lives.
Last week we enjoyed our first Joke Friday for the Class of 2031. Having a laugh is great for our well-being, and sharing jokes, riddles and puns encourage deeper language development. Best of both worlds! Here is a snapshot of the first few jokes that got us giggling…
- Which ocean talks to another ocean? They don’t, they wave!
- Why did the golfer wear 2 pairs of pants? In case he got a hole in one.
- Why did the kid throw the clock out of his window? Because he wanted to see time fly.
- Knock knock, who’s there? Spell. Spell who? That’s easy, w-h-o.
- The frisbee was getting bigger and bigger and then it hit me.
This week, students talked about what we are thankful and grateful for. It was a positive start to the week, and something I highly recommend to do on a regular basis if you can.
Here are some of the presentations they shared, with family and friends topping pretty much every list. What’s on your list?
