Message from the Head of School – October 7, 2022

Recall, our campus will reopen to students on TUESDAY 18th October (not Monday 17th) after the mid-semester break. We hope that all of our students will take a well deserved break and, in line with our Core Values, reflect on the successes and challenges of the first term. It is important that as parents, you impress on them the need to reflect on their academic and social growth. Ask them to ask the questions as to where and how they can improve, grow and develop. Reflection will help them grow to be more open-minded and knowledgeable and aligns with our mission.

We shall soon be conducting a survey on how successful our recent 3-way conferences were in terms of the booking process, the logistics and other areas that we wish to improve on. When you receive the feedback form, please do fill this in. Your feedback will be used to make improvements to the whole experience.

Last Friday, our wonderful PTA held a fantastic Pot-Luck dinner. The event was a huge success and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the PTA, to the gift contributors, and of course all the parents who turned up to support this great event. 

Note: our official communications platforms are via email and e-news, we only use Whatsapp for occasional informal messages or emergencies. However, I shall need to send a message to parents shortly via Whatsapp to remind parents that these are our official platforms. The reason I need to bring this to our community’s attention is that some of our communications are either not being read or passed on third hand and the content has been changed. Therefore, to ensure you have the correct information, please only rely on school emails or e-news.

Please do recall that when on campus, adults should ALWAYS only use adult bathrooms, NEVER a student bathroom. If in the vicinity of the covered court, we have an adult bathroom next to the infirmary. If on the “main” campus, we have multiple adult bathrooms.

Dates for the diary:

• International Day: Monday 24th October. The event will run from approximately 1200 lunch time, to 1530. Event details have already gone out but will be reshared again soon.
• School break: Friday 18th November, the school is closed for mid-term break.
• Counsellor Workshop: Thursday 03rd November, Grade 1-4, “Media use in children”.
