PTA eNews Updates – October 7th, 2022

Quote of the week:

“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty.” – Henry Ford

Hi everyone, Lucy here posting my first update as the new PTA chairperson!
You may recognise my name from WhatsApp, where I have been pestering you all in preparation for International Day.

I have just taken over the PTA chairperson role from Jinae, whose hard work over the past 2.5 years has helped our school community weather the COVID storm. Thank you so much Jinae, and also Secretary Novi who has also retired from her position on the PTA Committee. Thanks also to all of you who have given me such a warm welcome so far, it is very much appreciated!

A huge thank you also goes out to all of the teachers, staff, sponsors and PTA members who made last week’s Potluck such a success. It was so wonderful to see so many parents and staff coming together to share delicious food, win fantastic prizes, share a drink and dance.

More than 5 million rupiah was raised for the PTA! 5 million thanks for your generosity.

Our next big event will be International Day on Monday the 24th October. Hopefully, everyone has now connected with their group via WhatsApp – if I’ve missed you (sorry!) Please message me at +61424264086, and I will make sure that you find your group.

I will be maintaining these Nationality groups into the future, adding new parents to their chosen group when they join the school. I hope that this will allow those who are new to our community to quickly find friends with something in common who can help make them feel at home here in Bali and at BIS.

The highlight of our International Day celebrations is the International Fair, which features stalls from each nationality sharing complementary food, games and music – all decorated and operated by our amazing parent volunteers. Below is the summary timeline for the day and photos from previous years which I hope will get you excited for the 24th! You can find more pics on the PTA Instagram – bis_pta

Finally I have put together a brief survey about the PTA. If you have an opinion about the events, communication or management of the PTA please complete the survey below to tell me all about it!
