Message from the Head of School – January 25, 2019

I would like to thank Rachael Gerbic, our counselor, and her wonderful assistant, Ibu Indrayani for all of their efforts to create such a well received Career Day. We had over 20 presenters from many different career paths who shared their journeys and pearls of wisdom. The advice kept coming back to a central idea — try as many different activities, classes and service opportunities that you can as they will shape your passion and help you identify your direction.

At BIS, we provide students with myriad opportunities to try, get involved, create and develop passions. I am thankful for all of the quality learning that ignites passions in classrooms, for the after school activities that push our students to practice and persevere, for our service programs which encourage all of us to think of others and care for our environment. I am proud of our students who are searching for their passions, who jump into new opportunities to not only learn new skills, but to see if this is their thing, “the” thing.

The Governor of Bali has asked residents to wear traditional clothing on Thursdays. To respect this idea and our host state, we will move our Batik Shirt Day to Thursdays. Students are welcome to wear their House Shirts on Fridays. Thank you for your help in making this change.

Chinese New Year will be celebrated next Friday. Come drop off your child at school and enjoy a traditional Dragon Dance in our covered courts. The show will begin at 8:00 a.m. Students and faculty are encouraged to wear red, join in the fun! Big thanks to Yen Hsi Liu for arranging the Dance.

The videos from the Primary Production performed last semester can be found here. Enjoy!
