Message from the Head of School – Aug 11th, 2023

School Holiday: Please be reminded that in recognition of Indonesian Independence Day , school will be closed on Thursday 17th August 2024, reopening Friday 18th.

Lanyards and ID: we have made an excellent start with the vast majority of parents remembering to wear the lanyards and IDs. Moving forward, please try and ensure that every time you wish to enter the campus, a lanyard and ID must be worn. Please do not be offended when challenged if you are not wearing one. After all, it’s your child we are trying to protect 🙂

House colours: please recall that our House colours are to be worn on Fridays.  We take great pride in our house system and as intimated during orientation, this year, we will be further developing our house system with more events and initiatives. If you do not already have a house t-shirt, feel free to drop by the office and buy one, thank you.

School uniform: In collaboration with STUCO, (Student Council), our students and parent volunteers, we are looking to form a working group to redesign our school uniform. The initiative is entirely student driven and any parents wishing to be part of this working group should contact our STUCO reps at npecquery25@baliis.net or bisstuco@baliis.net This is a fantastic example of our mission statement, that refers to engagement and empowerment.

Council of International Schools: We are pleased to announce that we have received the definitive dates for our CIS preparatory visit. This visit precedes the main visit in 2025. The preparatory visit will take place on the week commencing 13th May 2024. Note that, we have been advised to change the time frame of our community surveys in order to have relevant information to present to the team. Additionally, in order that the data is valid and reliable, we have been advised that a participation rate of no less than 70% should be expected. Therefore, in order to meet these requirements, we shall be conducting these surveys in November/December.

Indonesian Independence Day: we would love to invite all our parents (all parents are invited, and the event is not restricted to Indonesian parents) to participate in two events to recognise Indonesian Independence Day on Wednesday 16th August.

  1. From 0750 to 0825, we will conduct a flag raising ceremony at the small primary field.
  2. From 1350-1445, we will have a whole school assembly in the covered court area.

All parents are invited to our campus to celebrate.

The “Solemen” food drive container is now in place at the school office. This weekend, please pop an extra bag of rice or oil or other non-perishable food item to help others less fortunate than ourselves.

Building works: please be aware that we are still finishing off some of the construction and fittings. We hope to soon have all the signage, curtains and cleaning etc completed very soon. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
